Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2 have been delayed by a year due to poor sales, but that won’t stop one producer from claiming that she is doing the right thing by staying away from releasing any further Hunger Games.
“I just really don’t feel like the pressure is that big of a thing,” said Jennifer Hale, the producer of the critically acclaimed Hunger Games movies.
“We have a great team and we have a good story and we’ve done our research.
We have people who have been doing it for years and years, and we’re all really happy with what we’re doing.”
Hale’s comments come after she was asked on Twitter why she hadn’t released any more Hunger Games sequels.
“You’re not the first,” she replied, adding, “I’m not the last.”
While the film has sold over 10 million copies, Hale said she didn’t feel any pressure to do anything, despite the fact that there are already four films in the pipeline.
“People have asked me over and over why I haven’t released another Hunger Games movie,” she told The Canadian Press.
“My response is: I haven, and I’ll always have.”
Hale said the producers have put a lot of work into the new films and she’s not going to let the situation affect the way they make movies.
“It’s going to take a lot more of us to get the movies out there, and it’s a hard job, and there’s a lot that goes into it,” Hale said.
“It’s not the best thing to do for the industry, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to make any decisions, or we’ll have to make some decisions about the movies we’re making and how we make them.”
